International Educational Counseling Forum 2016

The conquest of the being in the Digital Age

What is FIOV?

Organized by Vocación Central, the International Educational Counseling Forum (FIOV) is an opportunity that brings together educational institutions and companies committed to the integral development of human beings. In this edition our country invited is Finland and participated leaders from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Spain, United States, Mexico and the UK.

The event is for high school and college teachers, college students, entrepreneurs, government agencies and nongovernmental organizations, as well as anyone interested in knowing more about the amazing world of vocational guidance. OUR GOAL is that attendees learn from a multidisciplinary approach, the challenges that we humans face in order to reconnect with our essence and discover our vocation.

FIOV will be the place where all those from the new generations find the tools to foster in them the ability to recognize ways to raise self-awareness and productivity.

The conquest of being

In a very accelerated world, in which apparently, we have lost the capacity to connect with our being, in its very first edition FOIV puts on the table the context, challenges and trials that we face to discover our vocation in a situation of constant technological change and its relationship with the environment.

  • Why to reconnect with your being?
  • How can technology be useful in the development of your vocation?
  • Do you know what is your vocation?
  • Are you ready to link your vocation to the digital era?

Thinking about vocation allows us to connect with what gives us strength to live is the engine that drives us to create, imagine and enhance our capabilities to innovate through the exercise of one or more professions, in order to establish a meaningful partnership with other beings to build and act in the world around us.

Digital Age

The digital age is transforming the activities and interactions between human beings; borders are erased, distances are shortened and people get closer. In the net one exists because of the other, they live in the immediacy, practicality and the process of access to information for decision-making is accelerated.

Despite the great benefits of the digital era and technology, society faces major challenges such as: transform information into knowledge, and recover the individuality and uniqueness of human beings.

Social Impact on the conquest of being

Forgetting to connect with our essence to interact with the speed required by the digital age can makes us forget about our vision, what we want as human beings.

Those who manage to conquer their being and see the utility of digital tools for the enrichment of a comprehensive development, will become innovative agents in all the activities they wish to undertake; they will be able to link their internal capabilities with all the knowledge received in the teaching-learning to become productive beings to themselves and society.

The digital age has revolutionized the training of human beings, FIOV means a paradigm shift in the appropriation of the being.
